Information wanted about two VP's

Post by jon bricken »

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the following two ports as I have the opportunity to purchase at reasonable prices.

Osborne 2000

Croft Quinta de Roeda 1995

Thanks in advance

It has been a while since I last tasted these Ports:

Croft 1995 Q.d. Roeda VP:
10.11.2003: Very interesting to taste this side-by-side with the ’95 Vargellas. The colour is quite similar, but the body is lighter, smoother and a bit more jammy. Good finish, if slightly hot. Very good indeed, but the Vargellas is in a different league. Still, wouldn’t mind owning some!

Osborne 2000 VP
08.04.2003: Nice. Quite sweet. Short to medium term drinker. ***

Depending on your definition of a reasonable price, both are buys IMO.

Thanks for tasting notes.

The Osborne might be LBV instead of VP a "mistake on the web sight".

It was listed at $22.99 per btl for a case purchase.

They have already changed it after I tried to buy a case.

The Croft is still listed at $44.99.

I have not placed any order for this port.
