I agree with Graham, Fonseca, and Dow as the best but in the Rodney Daingerfield ( can't get no respect category) the underrated, least appreciated, and I wish I had another case of it, is Ferreira .I have one bottle left. It has an 89.5 Cellartracker rating. I always thought it was a 90 point wine.

fonseca graham in that order tops for me not much in it super wine and value for money esp graham but the fon is slightly ritcher more backbone
actualy id call them both the atypical new age wines you could drink them both young again esp graham 1985
we went through 3 cases in 6 months of g it was so drinkable at 12 ys old 1997
im sure there are several other good 85s early 90s score on the big ricta scale from memory like 93 pt the fon 94 pt good scores symonb
and to think we pade 220 pounds a case wish id kept some id recomend g 85 to anyone it drinks like glases of wine not litle port glases [yahoo.gif] [cheers.gif] :yumyum:

The Ferriera is nice, but it goes downhill quicker once open than most of the better 1985's I can think of. I am down to 4-5 bottles in my OWC. Funny, just yesterday, I brought up a bottle of '80 and '85 from my cellar on the Cape. [cheers.gif]

I have never held it open long enough for it to go down hill very fast. Which cape was that, the Batman cape? Cape Canaveral.? Are we cape dropping here now? [foilhat.gif]

I have mine here in the backwoods of Aledo Texas on the "deck" not the deck of a yaucht but my little sundeck here in the boonies.

Batman's cape is in my closet. Cape Cod.
