Derek T. wrote:My single largest purchase was actually a number of purchases spread over a few days, so perhaps doesn't count. It was 12 to 18 months ago when Tesco first put the Croft LBV 2004 on the shelf at £3.99 per half bottle. I spent the next few days visiting every Tesco store I could find and by the end of the week had 78 half bottles for me and about half that amount for other people.

A few months later Tesco repeated the offer, so I did the same again :D
I would be inclined to call that entire sequence (both months) as a single purchase. The intent was there.

My nine cases of Nimrod were ordered at a single time, and paid for with a single payment, but trickled in over a couple weeks as they came from several distributors who each had different delivery schedules.

I'd agree with that being a single purchase as well Derek... My 18 was made up of three purchases from three of the same chains (took all they had available at each store.). Like Peter says, the intent was there!! 8--)

Largest number of bottles of any single Port at one time, would be the 1977 Warre's VP in multiple cases @ $29 per bottle.

The largest number of "all Ports" purchased at one time, was my first time purchasing "En Primeur" (first tranch) from the UK: All of my 2000 Vintage Ports were ordered and paid for just prior to Taylor's birth. The 2000 VP frenzy was unlike anything I've seen before or since, (except for 2000 Bordeaux!).
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

2000 Bordeaux was/is my single largest wine purchase and bought En Primeur as well.
