1976 Quinta do Noval Colheita
Yummy. Better than the Porto Rocha, but I still haven't opened my one bottle of the Krohn so I can't compare those two. 1976 sure did turn out some good Colheitas!

NV Ferreira 20-yr old Tawny Port for an "unwinder" at the office on Friday afternoon. It was a big hit!

Dow's Fine White Port on Sunday... serving up the first Portonics of the season.
Also just finished off the remainder of a bottle of 2007 Fonseca LBV.

Reminds me I need to get some white port for Port-Tonic's now that it's warm out.

I thought it be to a very enjoyable, approachable young VP. There were loads of berries, some stone fruit and a touch honey on the palate. I found it to be very smooth and the finish was nice although I detected a bit of heat. Considering that this was just a youngster, it showed remarkably well. Given the tannic backbone I do believe that it would cellar well for the next 10+ years.

So my little plan of no alcohol until Saturday got a little derailed last night. But since derailed seems like such a bad word, lets just say my plan was modified. There that sounds better. After a few grueling days at work a little Port was in order. So I opened a Quarles Harris 10 Year Tawny Port. Not a bad little QPR from Trader Joe's. Now back to the plan

1957 Fonseca - Vale de Mendiz
1904 Cockburn
Fonseca was really sweet and on the simple side but quite enjoyable. Touch of fruit still showing.
Cockburn was delicate, dry with great color and nice balance. Was re-corked about 30 years ago.
