For The Love Of Port

My experience is a bit limited but my top two would be
Ramos Pinto Bom Retiro and Qunita do Vallado which are poles apart sylistically but are both great.
The Villar d'Allen was excellent then I'd go the Grahams and Noval.
One thing I can say for sure is that there is plenty more research still required!

I had a Cockburn's 20 year old Tawny today and must admit, I was really surprised by how good it was. I was not alone.

Another fine 20 year old I had this week was the Burmester. Yummy+

To echo Roy's impressions :
Tasting the 20 yr old Cockburn on the Harvest tour , enabled this 20 yr old to enter in my top 3 .
1- Ramos Pinto
2- Sandeman
3- Cockburn

Had the Ferreira Duque De Braganca also on the tour , but It didn't have what I look for in a 20 yr old .

Costco in MA has Sandeman 20 for $39.95. NH beats that on occasion. I'm pretty sure I have bought the Sandeman for $29.95 on sale in NH. We'll be in Montreal, end of November. Be ready to drink!

I'm surprised - not many, if any, has mentioned Krohn - I love this port - but must admit, that I haven't tasted al the 20YO mentioned above.

Actually it's $37.99 at Costco...

Sipping an Otima 20 at the moment. Very nice indeed, though to my mind nowhere near the QPR of the 10 (which i'm convinced has a new/different blend from the blend described in the TNs here, since i recognise very little in the previously negative reports of it).

Andresen 20 in recent weeks was also rather good. UK buyers can get it at £20 per bottle from Laithwaites using internet discount vouchers and ordering 4. To my mind, that's a price that offers good value, but not so great that i would re-order just at the moment.

Ck20 has just been listed in the UK...one store only...and thankfully near me! I will look forward to trying! I often think the Symingtons do better with aged Tawnies with their smaller brands/b.o.bs (Sainsbury 10 is a delight!), so will be interesting to see how they have approached Ck (i wonder too if this is actually old Ck stock that had been aged, or was just either transferred from other Sym stock or bought in from elsewhere)
