I don't find the standard white worth running for - but wood aged white is in my opinion fantastic for example Dalva Golden white, the whites from Lamelas, Quinta sta. Eufemia, DR

Totally agree. Except in the summer when a nice White Port and Tonic with lemon really hits the spot.

This is one of my favourites so far when it comes to white Ports. Pretty reasonably priced, sweet, tawny like and even complex white Port. At it's best slightly chilled. And i had a pleasure to visit their winery last year in Douro Valley. There was a small tasting where i first noticed it suits my palate well.

Mika,
I had that at a wine fair when I was last in the Douro. I agree, it was very nice.

Lamelas Ports are good. I had the chance to try a handful in 2013, where I was staying in Porto. Their shop had quite a few and they were v. close to the owners of Lamelas. A friend of mine is also a partner of the Lamelas "booth" at Bom Successo in Porto. I will likely be visiting them in 2016, finally.

I recently had bottle of Dalva (da Silva) 20 year old white port. Rather dry. An interesting experience!

Picked up some Niepoort 10 year old white for under $30 in Portugal last month. Lovely stuff; wish I could find some locally...
