Ouch. Hope it heals soon Andy.
I've given up cycling here in Oman. I tried for a while, but stopped during ramadan, when it was blazing hot and we weren't allowed to drink anything on the bike. That didn't feel good. I never got back to it because I didn't like the safety on the road (people really don't know how to react to cyclists here) and because there is construction work going on everywhere which resulted in having to repair tyres 2-3 times a ride. I guess I just have to enjoy my beautiful bike when I move back to the Netherlands.

Had a wonderful ride on Saturday until a near road rage incident on an open country road.

Some prick in his 10+ BMW, on the cell phone with his son in the passenger seat had to remind me that we are not suppose to ride side-by-side. Yes, I know that is the law, but you could've passed us a lot easier than spending 200 yards arguing. I am sure he breaks no laws when drives... All this bickering on the most open country road. What does he do when there's a barrell in the road? Keep honking the horn and yelling how it's illegal to have a barrell in the road? No; he drives around it.

I am passive person, but start talking crap to me while I am riding and I am ready throw down in a heartbeat. Do you want to see yourself get beat down in front of your kid because you have an axe to grind?
