On CT Forums someone asked if I meant 12 six-packs, so I posted this:

:Naughty:
I can think of a great reason - because it would drive Derek crazy!

(To really make his veins pop you'd have to threaten to drink one of them, too!)

Having tasted 2007 VP from 100+ bottles this year I have no moral high ground to stand on here [dance2.gif]

If I had any kind of ability to write coherent tasting notes, I might have an excuse: to record how it tastes now (to me) to compare with my impressions down the road.

Actually, I expect my kids will drink most of this. Hope they enjoy it.

A fine reason! And your tasting notes are fine... you should look at some of the rambling wrecks that I wrote! Or check out some of Andy's early TNs.

You have to start somewhere, and you won't get any better at it if you never write 'em!

Picked up a magnum of 1985 Graham Vintage Port. I love that stuff, so couldn't resist getting a magnum for some future party.

Also picked up a bottle of 1980 Dow that I found for a very reasonable $85.

I had the Grahams 1985 in magnum a couple of times. Really outstanding bottle. The magnums seem to perform better no matter what to me.

A couple of friends up here discussed a 1970 Magnum party. So far we have Warre, Croft, Sandeman (maybe Taylor). We need 1 or 2 more bottles and several people willing to participate as we have 4 people to drink them.

Darn! All I have is a 77 Dow in magnum. Sounds like a blast though.

4 Magnums & 4 People. I don't see what the problem is [shrug.gif]

Really should be 5-7 people or 4 hearty drinkers. I like to save room for some dry wines and Champagne if possible too before the casual port drinking phase. We've broke the two bottle a person mark a few times, but I have been getting soft in my old age. [help.gif]

How dare you utter such nonsense. it has nothing to do with old age. it's like training for a bike race, you just need to get into shape before hand :winebath:

Or get out of shape if I am to be a port drinking contender.

Well, Josh and I did ok yesterday. We finished a '66 Taylor, '85 Ramos (almost complete), and a 2000 Morgon dry wine.

Bought a $16 bottle of 2003 Osborne LBV on Sunday in the hopes it tastes pretty good to stock up on as a value buy. Lost my Qd.Noval LBV local source, so it's between Osborne and Qd.Ventozello for local supplies.

Mike.

...the discount price ends on 1 Dec so I will probably clear another shelf or two before then. This is very nice juice for this price

You should just call up Croft, tell them that you're the buyer for Tesco, and have it delivered to your house.

But I'm not winning the race to clear the shelves...

...a certain gentleman from Wokingham emailed me today to say he was now up to 44 half bottles
