I can think of a great reason - because it would drive Derek crazy!Derek T. wrote:Peter W. Meek wrote:Can anyone think of a reason to open these nice wood cases right now?
Having tasted 2007 VP from 100+ bottles this year I have no moral high ground to stand on hereGlenn E. wrote:I can think of a great reason - because it would drive Derek crazy!Derek T. wrote:Peter W. Meek wrote:Can anyone think of a reason to open these nice wood cases right now?![]()
(To really make his veins pop you'd have to threaten to drink one of them, too!)
A fine reason! And your tasting notes are fine... you should look at some of the rambling wrecks that I wrote! Or check out some of Andy's early TNs.Peter W. So, 20 years down the road are some of you guys gonna come and help an old man pry one of these open and try some of this?Peter W. Meek wrote:

I had the Grahams 1985 in magnum a couple of times. Really outstanding bottle. The magnums seem to perform better no matter what to me.Glenn E. wrote:Picked up a magnum of 1985 Graham Vintage Port.
Darn! All I have is a 77 Dow in magnum. Sounds like a blast though.Moses Botbol wrote:A couple of friends up here discussed a 1970 Magnum party. So far we have Warre, Croft, Sandeman (maybe Taylor). We need 1 or 2 more bottles and several people willing to participate as we have 4 people to drink them.
4 Magnums & 4 People. I don't see what the problem isMoses Botbol wrote:A couple of friends up here discussed a 1970 Magnum party. So far we have Warre, Croft, Sandeman (maybe Taylor). We need 1 or 2 more bottles and several people willing to participate as we have 4 people to drink them.
Really should be 5-7 people or 4 hearty drinkers. I like to save room for some dry wines and Champagne if possible too before the casual port drinking phase. We've broke the two bottle a person mark a few times, but I have been getting soft in my old age.Derek T. wrote:4 Magnums & 4 People. How dare you utter such nonsense. it has nothing to do with old age. it's like training for a bike race, you just need to get into shape before handMoses Botbol wrote:. We've broke the two bottle a person mark a few times, but I have been getting soft in my old age.
Or get out of shape if I am to be a port drinking contender.Andy Velebil wrote:How dare you utter such nonsense. it has nothing to do with old age. it's like training for a bike race, you just need to get into shape before handMoses Botbol wrote:. You should just call up Croft, tell them that you're the buyer for Tesco, and have it delivered to your house.Derek T. wrote:+ another 8
