Graham's Six Grapes...with a twist. It was bottled back in 1998! So 13 years old now. I just had a glass and it's still quite tannic with a primary nose. It's opening up with a little air, but so far not bad.

Friday night watched hockey with some friednds and we drank a Fonseca Bin 27 & a 2005 Niepoort LBV. No TNs (I've done both before).
For Easter a Niepoort Ruby with the family.
No formals TNs (I've posted on all these before). All 3 were just great within their price points. I especially like the Niepoort LBV. I've got to get a few more and "lose" them in my cellar for a few years. Just too tempting (as someone wrote here today, I need a defender for my defenders!)

Kopke 10 year Tawny
Day 1 glass 1: Pretty much as to be expected from a younger tawny, sweet and light.
Day 2 glass 2: The heavier alcohol aftertaste dissipated making it much more palatable.

1985 Warre Vintage Port
We opened it before going out to eat for dinner. The pop & pour sample was quite nice. Dark, floral, and smooth; we were excited to drink this in a couple of hours. When we got home, the Warre became really hot, simple and not very flattering. Never saw that coming! I wonder why? There were no musty or “off” tastes. What appeared to be a perfect bottle end up being a real downer.
Maybe the bottle turned around with further decanting?

I must apologize for not being around much this week as I've been very busy with an intense training class for work, one week down and one more to go. After no alcohol for a week I met a couple of wine friends last night and enjoyed a couple nice bottles of old Cali Cab's, one from Chile, and a very tasty Rocha 50th Anniversary Tawny Port that hit the spot.

Yesterday with a friend from Meursault who's a big fan of Port I did open for him Redoma Reserva 2004 and Niepoort's Colheita 78 bottled in 1990 among other bottles.

Moreira Colheitas 1952 and 1965. The 65 is better.
