If you are going to buy just one of anything, that is a very good one to buy

11 more half bottles were purchased today, bringing the total to 44. This latest batch were purchased using some discount vouchers sent to me in the post today by Tesco resulting in them costing me £2.74 each

5 bottles of Taylor's 2003 LBV at $22.99/bottle (tried one a couple of weeks ago and liked it)
1 bottle of Fonseca 2003 LBV, unfiltered at $22.29 (odd price, but that's what the receipt says)
I haven't tried this Fonseca 2003 LBV and haven't found any review on FTLOP. Does anyone have any experience with this wine?

No experience with the Fonseca, but that 2003 Taylor's rocks! Oscar Q. served this to me (and a few others here) blind this summer and I was amazed at how good it was. Taylor's deserves some kudos for a job well done on that one, and so do you for getting it. You won't be disappointed as you already know.

I agree - the Taylor has been my favorite LBV for almost a year now ever since I tried it at a tasting at Pete's in Bellevue. Good stuff!

Taylor's 20 year old tawny port, bottled 2008 $55.99/bottle
I've been wanting to try my first tawny port (I'm very new to drinking port), and Roy's tasting note of 10/22 linked to the home page sure made this bottle sound like a winner. It may be after the new year before I drink this, however.

2005 Taylor Quinta de Vargellas, a bunch of 375s; 1950 Moreira Colheita; and 1987 Moreira VP.
I wanted to get some full bottles of the Taylor, but the $30 ones dried up. I managed to find some 375s at a reasonable price, and threw in the Moreiras for fun. Since the 2005 Taylor isn't a long-term ager, I think the halves will be o.k. for shorter term drinking. I have no expectations for the 1987 Moreira, but I've not had any 1987 of any brand, and it was just $24.

1 x Warre's Otima 20-yr Old Tawny Port
I've been looking for one of these for a while because I've heard that it's significantly better than the Otima 10-yr Old, so even though this bottle was rather expensive for a 500 ml ($44) I went ahead and got it so that I could finally try it.
The store also had the 1995 Smith Woodhouse unfiltered LBV ($34) and 2003 Taylor Fladgate filtered LBV ($30) so it was a tough choice!

2 x Dow LBV 2004 - £5.49 for a 50cl bottle at Tesco
2 x Quinta de Eira Velha 2000
2 x Fonseca Guimareans 1988
1 x Fonseca Guimareans 1996
1 x Taylor First Estate
The 6 above were purchased at Sainsbury with 25% off for a total of £75. That's around £13.80 for each of the VPs and £6 for the TFE.

I got it only to expand my collection of 1985s... I'm not expecting greatness out of a $30 bottle.

I just keep an eye out for bottles from 1985 that I don't already have, and when I see one I pick it up.
