At the beginning of this year, I was a year ahead on my retirement outlook. With the market turns this year, I now think I'm a year behind. But looking at my PORTfolio, I still have things to drink.

Has anyone tried this "on the QT" version - how does it differ from the standard vintage (if at all)?

I’ve not tried it but it is a totally different blend from the actual Noval VP. Think of it more as a Noval Silval VP and not the full Quinta do Noval blend. Should still be a very nice earlier maturing Port.

I suspected as much - £37.50 would have been a little too good. Either way, looking forward to trying it (probably younger than it deserves )

The Noval QT was hard to resist at that price. If you try one, let us know what you think of it.

I'm picking up some Quevedo 40 year old from Lisa tonight - she found a couple of cases on sale at a website and bought it all for us as a group.

A bottle of 1863 Niepoort in a lovely Lalique decanter which I found in an auction in Hong Kong.






And then I woke up. Wow, well done Dirk! Completely changing the market for old port.

The China train on vintage port is just starting... It's not going to be long before craziness happens with older vintages like has with Bordeaux and Burgundy... Red, old, exclusive and sweet tasting. How it took as long as it has is pretty amazing considering VP is right up the Chinese alley.

1968 Krohn Colheita, 3x. Bottled 2008 isn't so great, but I have a particular fondness for 1968.

2 x 1970 Borges VP. Price was low enough to take a flyer and see what it's like.

I know when the San Leonardo "100" was released in California, one of the better markets was Chinese stores. Visitors from China would buy it there.

Dow’s crusted 2007. Rescued the last bottle at the store. Why they had it I have no idea.
