I'm hoping Derek will forgive me - general thoughts are this will last a fair few years.

I can't believe I passed up the chance of sharing that very bottle less than a week ago
Enjoy!

Roy, you'll have too let us know what is good for 08... My third (and last) child was born in 08 so I need to pick something up for him for the cellar. (mind you, supply of 2008 may be in short supply he anyway, so I may be forced o take what i can get.) still, knowing which ale the good ones to look for is always helpful.

I'm working on getting my own pharmacy open and needed a little slave labor from a good friend of mine. To reward him after a day of moving a ton of heavy furniture and shelving I pulled out a bottle of Quinta Do Noval VP from 2003 and a couple Cohiba Behike 54s. What a fantastic pairing. I'm really starting to like this vintage port stuff. I feel bankruptcy or divorce creeping up on me.

Just found and am enjoying some Cockburn's Special Reserve port. It is SOLID for a "cheap" NV reserve ruby. Very nice. One of the better rubies I have had the opportunity to try. I have Andy to thank for this... A standup recommendation. Congratulates to Cockburn's... They have really improved this port dramatically. I tried it a number of years ago and it was really not good. Too harsh, spirity, just not very high quality. What a turnaround.... This juice is something to be celebrated for a basic ruby.

Emergency procedures tonight dictated I open a port on short (like right now) notice. Noval Black was staring me in the face....now it's staring at the inside of my tummy :)

A 40 year old, screw-capped bottle of NV Graham's "The Emperor" Tawny. It's OK, and quite nice chilled in the summer warmth.
