A bottle of Malvedos 1986 to try and fool a couple of port loving friends - which succeeded!

With a home renovation fully underway, which means everything in the kitchen (and most of the house) is now packed up in boxes, and with a busy work week I've had no wine or Port since last Saturday
Today is my only day off and my goal, once all my long over due chores are done, is hopefully to have at least a little Port tonight....here's to keeping my fingers crossed.

Not quite

Only that you spotted that it was the same wine in each of the half bottles I had used for double decanting. What did you guess the wine was again?

A bottle of Dow 1991 LBV so that I can take part in an offline themed as "Anything but Vintage" tomorrow. I can't be there in person, but at least I can be there in spirit.

Noval 2003 LBV (something not entirely right with this bottle... asleep perhaps? Not as vibrant and powerful as normal. Almost bitter.)

Congrats! Does this mean you'll be racing your wife in the future?

Doubtful since she really owns the plane. On the positive side, we might stop in Seattle on a flying trip next year.

Congrats Eric! Nice to see you a few weeks ago with your wife in CO. Hope to see you when you make your pit stop here in WA!
As to what I'm drinking this week, besides the 2009's that Glenn opened up, from last year's Oscar Quevedo buying opportunity - sampler ... I have a 2007 Niepoort Pisca open now which is really a fun Port.

To help (belatedly) celebrate the 50th birthday of a lover of port this week I opened bottles of Fonseca Guimaraens 1961, Quinta do Noval 1961 (interestingly, both were bottled in 1964) and a bottle of Leoville Las Cases 1961. All were delicious - but the claret was stunning!

Marc,
Nice! Wish my drinking has been as good as yours lately, with this home construction I'm now down to disposable cups, plates, and silverware. Not exactly conducive for drinking the finer Ports. But when it's done there will be an offline at the casa to celebrate
