1995 Souza Vintage Port
I was pleasant surprised by this--it easily was at 92 points when first opened. It did decline on day two and three.

When I get home from work I plan on opening an Andresen Royal Choice 20 year-old Tawny. I've never had one before and I'm looking forward to it.

I've had a few glasses now over the past few days and I like it. It has a nice, sweet, slightly burnt wood aroma to it. It had a medium-thick mouthfeel which is a little surprising for a 20 year-old tawny. I can taste some citrus on the finish (oranges?) and it's slightly hot in the end. All in all it's a good 20 year-old tawny.

Cockburn's 2000, I did not have great expectation but the wine was rather really good! Fresh, fleshy, complex and pure. Required a good 12 hours in decanter, solid 94+

2011 Vieira de Sousa LBV.
One of the better from the vintage, young and vibrant. Nicely spiced and with a kick.

That's quite a statement considering how highly acclaimed the 2011 is.

I'm only talking about LBVs from 2011. Maybe I should have been more clear on that?

For a business dinner. I discovered that I had 11 of these when I had to replace one of my fridges... and I can't remember where or when I got them! A nice surprise, as this one was very good. It went really well with dinner at Fogo de Chao in Bellevue.

I know it's too young, but I have several bottles of this and I wanted to see where this is 15+ years later. I just decanted and took a sip. At the opening bell it's all alcohol and tannins, not much flavor at all. I'm going to give it an initial 8 hour decant and check back, but this will probably settle down in a day or so.
8 1/2 hours later I poured a glass. It's dark purple and smells a lot less alcoholic. The first sip is smooth and very fruity. It's still not completely integrated and there's still some alcohol on the aftertaste, but I can tell that this one is going to be very good in another 10 or 15 years. I'll update this again tomorrow.
