Wow! Where did they come from? That’s a heck of a purchase.
Auction.. Only place to find much Krohn.

Mixed reviews on this site, all seem good but rarely great. At $230 each, seemed a good purchase.
Wow, prices of those have really gone up. They are very good but they are also starting to get a bit long in bottle. I would recommend not storing them long term at this point. I’ve got a few left and you’ve reminded me I need to pull them out of storage sometime soon.

I got that feeling from the tasting notes. Will be drinking them in the near-term. Looks like it may be the only Colheita Branco they made?

2007 Dow's Colheita, a fantastic tawny that's not super easy to find (thankfully we've got the internet now, lol) [cheers.gif]

There was less than a pipe of the 1896 Branco in the old Wiese & Krohn lodge. Haven't heard what Taylor Fladgate will do with it.
It still is the best branco I've had, maybe a bit better than the new San Leonardo muito velho blends.

3 x Taylor Very Very Old Tawny Port Platinum Jubilee Edition

https://www.taylor.pt/en/port-wine/platinum-jubilee

It's pre-arrival, and AFAIK is only going to be available in England, so mine will rest quietly at Seckford's until I next arrange a shipment from them.

Since it says "Very Very Old" on the label, I assume it is being released under that new category which is supposed to represent Ports that are 80+ years old. So far Taylor is being very coy about the actual ages of the wines in the blend, but given their size and stature (not to mention the dedication of the Port to the Queen) it wouldn't be worth the risk for them to skimp on this particular Port.

It is a bit of an odd mix. Two different auctions. The Malvedos was from a Zachy's auction and the other two were from Wine Bid.

Want to snatch that Crasto LBV off your hands [kez_11.gif] Should really have more LBVs with some age on hand.

I love an LBV with 20 to 30 years of age on it.

Especially when you bear in mind you only paid around 25% (or less) of what a VP would cost on release. Just the icing on the cake.

These aren't Port, but they're port-style wines made by one of the original Yakima Valley wineries here in Washington.

Hinzerling Winery is no longer growing grapes. They've sold all of their back stock of wine, but still have some fortifieds that I tasted this past weekend while in Prosser for a barbecue competition. They were tasty enough that I bought some.

NV Hinzerling Winery Three Muses Ruby Port
NV Hinzerling Winery Rainy Day Fine Tawny Port
NV Hinzerling Winery Angelica (Gewurztraminer, not Mission)
NV Hinzerling Winery Collage (3 x Muscat blend - early, canelli, and orange)

The Three Muses does not taste at all like a Ruby Port, but rather about a 10-15 Year Old Tawny Port. The owner said that the color is quite variable at this point, ranging from an actual Ruby Port color to more of a 10 Year Old Tawny color. The one we tasted was definitely more tawny than ruby. This is technically a solera, but a very young one in which 25% is bottled and replaced every year.

The Rainy Day tastes a lot like a softer style 20 Year Old Tawny. It is also a solera, this one being a 3-tier solera that was started in 1989 but which included 2 (out of 7) barrels of 1982 at that time. The 3 tiers now consist of 15 1/2 barrels, of which 2 are bottled (and replaced) every year resulting in a production of roughly 50 cases in 375ml bottles.
