Last night I opened Quarles Harris 1977, Smith Woodhouse 1977, Gould Campbell 1977 and Smith Woodhouse 1983 as my contributions to a QH / SW / GC triple vertical from 1970 to 1994.
And my GC77 wasn't corked

Hurrah!

I opened and consumed with pleasure a 2003 Graham LBV. It was opened and decanted about 5 hours before drinking. I've drunk this several times before, and this bottle was true to earlier experiences. I'll probably open and decant long next time. I liked sampling figs with this best, but I found that slices of Honeycrisp apple (mild mottled red and green apple) brought out some other flavors of the port in a good way. I had never had apple with Port and was surprised that this worked at all. I expected an unpleasant clash between the apple and the Port.

Smith Woodhouse 1991 VP. We brought the bottle to a restaurant, and the wine steward decanted it on our arrival, giving it about two hours before we started to drink it. Smooth, fruity, and enjoyable, but not very complex.

Well, I didn't open the bottle, but our favorite local restaurant is now stocking Quinta de Santa Eufemia Fine White Port, and I must say that for a NV, non-indication of age white in the $11-$15/bottle range, it is quite nice.

Alex,
I really love that one and the 1967 too ... both are brilliant VP's.
My brother and his family arrives tonight and I have a 1977 Quarles Harris in decanter for consuming later this evening, along with our wives.

We were thirsty tonight and after the bottle of 1977 Quarles Harris which showed as well as I could possibly have expected, in the same vein as Warre from the same vintage; we then had a 20 year old Ramos Pinto Tawny.
