Brad-- let me know what you ended up with if you want to split, and I'll see if it is something I'm interested in.
Love Eureka, btw.

I am 2049 and between the 18% and shipping don't think I am going to find many deals here. I already have a petty decent size of vintage port from the 90's going forward in the celalr so i was looking to back fill from the 80'sand earlier but doubt I will grab any considerign the prices I was hoping to pay for them.
Good luck everyone!

Yeah I'm not winning anything anymore. May pop back tomorrow to try and snatch some '95s if they're still cheap, but that's probably it.

Also, it might be worth folks looking for specific things to put in absentee bids for the live auction the day after this one as well, which includes a lot of port.

I have bid live with Leland Little in the past and they move pretty fast. Just a warning.

Bradley--almost 20 years ago we spent a few days staying in Trinidad and went to Eureka for a dinner. Love the area. That's not a phrase I hear often! You've been here? And will do.

Agreed. It wasn't much of an issue for me--the fast moving prices went above my range and above retail, for Bordeaux.David Spriggs wrote:I have bid live with Leland Little in the past and they move pretty fast. Just a warning.

Competing with 2068. They've got the 1994s pretty well covered.John M. wrote:2069 has come on board and bid a lot of stuff---prices jumped fast.

Re: Nice collection of Port for sale
Interestingly, the auction end has changed. Last week it computed out to tonight at 6:00 pm Pacific. Then when Daylight Savings Time went into effect it computed out to tonight at 7:00 pm Pacific. Clearly the server's clock wasn't moved forward.
Now it's back to 6:00 pm... ish. There's a 5-minute difference break between lots 1030 and 1031, with 1031+ ending at 6:05 pm Pacific. There's another 5-minute break between 1060 and 1061+. Very strange, and frankly a bit disturbing for an auction site. Though perhaps it's just every 30 lots?
Yeah, prices have rocketed up pretty much across the board. I still have a couple of bids that I'll put in right before the deadline, but at this point I'm really not expecting to get anything. We'll see.

Re: Nice collection of Port for sale
Looks like I got a 6-pack of V94 and a case of F85. Had to go to ~75% of retail on each to get them (including buyer's premium), but that's okay to me for those particular Ports.
Wouldn't go that high on the others I was looking at.
Wish I had the cash right now to have bid on the F94 and T94... last I saw those were around 50% of retail.

Won an OWC of '92 Vesuvio for $190 and some Burgundy. I bid on 35 lots... Looks like the auction house did the consigner pretty well. Good for him!

Re: Nice collection of Port for sale
I got the 1997 Vesuvio.
Yeah, the 1994 Taylor and Fonseca were tempting for the price, but I already have a bit of those. The 1994 Dow looks like it ended up as even a better bargain around $47/bottle. The 1995 Taylor went for a reasonable price, but more than I was willing to spend; which is more a statement on cellar space and having a lot of 1990s. I would have bought it more for a daily drinker had it been less.
