Gary,
In what way?
I have never been able to successfully upload photos, here, or I would provide one. Certainly caused by my own technical limitations ...

The original label was completely gone and had been replaced with a very generic and very small label at the bottom of the bottle with a handwritten note saying "1963 Warre's". The wax capsule was almost completely gone and the top of the cork was not in great shape and completely disintegrated when I tried to pull it. The fill level was low shoulder and there was some evidence of past leaking, though none since I purchased it about a year ago. It was not terribly expensive given the condition, so I gambled on it. 1963 seemed about right (maybe even 1970) for what was in the bottle, but I cannot say if it was Warre's. I must say, whatever the Port was inside (be it a 1963 Warre's or something else), it was wonderful. The heartiness of Port never ceases to amaze me.

Glad to hear it showed well despite the condition.

Nothing.

My first dry week (with intent) in 2012. After 10 days of utter vinous debauchery early in the month, I decided it was time to come up for air. [cheers.gif]

Takeaway: don't stop drinking Port or you'll get sick. Got it. Good to know.

I've got a Gilbey's Invalid Port bottle downstairs - sadly it's empty though...

Still, a well cellared bottle of Noval '60 is going down rather nicely right now.. [cheers.gif]

I sure could have used the Invalid to help me along. Haven't had a drop in well over a week. After the past four long very sick days I was finally able to get outside yesterday for a short walk around the yard, which felt good. After so long cooped up in bed or lying on the couch it was needed. I rarely get sick, beyond the odd day of not feeling 100%, but this flu (or whatever it was) wiped me out good. Think it's best to avoid alcohol for a bit longer....but isn't red wine (thus Port) medicinal for the heart?
