She gets to open/try lots of Taylor bottles but that gets tiresome. She liked that label on the Dow, or so I was told.
She likes that stark black and white label?
Must like chocolate, no wonder she wants to become a pastry chef!

I opened a bottle of "Dow 1962 late bottled 1966" last night and shared it with a few friends.

Happy Anniversary! Tonight I'll be opening up a 1975 Warre which I'm going to pair with a nicely grilled ribeye steak.

1980 Dow for a get together with my two best friends and their families that I've known since kindergarten and 2nd grade respectively. They are not Port savvy, but if this bottle shows well, they should love it. Four other bottles of white/red DOC wines are in tow as well.

Quinta do Portal 20 Year Tawny
Part of this was used to make a glaze for carrots which were on the side with a seasoned tri-tip roast and carmelized onions. The rest of the bottle was served with dessert - fresh apricot pie. Both applications were delightful and very well received by the group.

Taylor 10 yo Tawny
Ramos Pinto 30 yo Tawny
The above opened at a dinner party with a group of people I worked with nearly 20 years ago. Served as dessert with an assortment of cheesecakes and carrot cake. Both wines were well received by everyone, and I think everyone got a kick out of the "mini vertial" that we put on. Created a couple of new Port drinkers tonight, I think! (And upgraded the tastes of a couple more - no one else in the group had ever had anything as exotic as a 30yo before).

Quinta do Portal 20-yr Old Tawny Port
1985 Graham's Vintage Port
The first for "study group" on Thursday night with Persian BBQ and the second on Friday night for a South African "poikey" dinner with some of my wife's coworkers. Not sure I'm spelling that right, but it was delicious!

David,
It was only because Dorene and I were able to dine and hang out with Mr. & Mrs. P. Meek and I knew he'd never get a chance to try it otherwise. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and I was pleased to be able to share it with them.
Tonight I opened a delicious 1999 SW LBV while we watched a documentary. Really impressive for LBV.
