TRADER JOE'S - not the first name you think of for Port

Currently they have the 2007 Quarles Harris Port for around (+/-) $40.00 per bottle; depending on the tax structure of your state.

Coming is the Quarles Harris Port 1994. This will hit Trader Joes about mid-July. It will be around $23.00 when it hits the stores. Keep your eyes open for this. It is a very solid VP and what a bargain it shall be.

Reported here a while back :-) Guess they haven't run out. That sounds incredible for the 1994.

Wow, that is a good price. Will keep my eyes out for it. Will be buying it by the case.

Todd, when are you coming back to Boston? [friends.gif] [cheers.gif] :winebath:

Evidently not soon enough!!! [cheers.gif]
I'm still trying to find some of the Dow 85 that you opened that week a couple of years ago... Just can't get my hands on it around here, but it has lived on in my wish list.

'85 Dow I was told had just been released from a local distributor. Sitting the whole time in their warehouse, but retailers are asking $150 a bottle. I have feeling not many will be sold at that price.

Have you tried the Dow Crusted?

Haven't seen the Dow Crusted around these parts, but there is one wine shop that may bring it in. There is a website tht
At you can search on wine names to determine where they are being shopped to, and thus far, no results, but I'll keep hoping they find a way to get some into this province eventually.

Yeah, $150/btl may be a bit steep... Hey, that's almost like Edmonton prices!!, [dash1.gif]

I bought a few bottles of the '07 at the Trader Joe's in NYC about a year and a half ago for $35 - great VP for the price. I've checked back regularly but haven't seen it since (though they still stock the '05 LBV, 10yr Tawny and basic Ruby/Tawny). I'm definitely gonna have to stay on the lookout for the '94 at... $23??? Really? I hope it shows up...

I have it from a very reliable source, here in the USA. [d_training.gif]

In fact, I am going to be heading to TJ's later this afternoon to see what's in our local shop.

One of my local ones still has more than a few 2007 Quarles Harris Port bottles left for $40 as well as the 10 year tawny for $17 and a 2005 LBV for $15 along with some other name brand name basics and LBV's. The $7 Porto Morgado ruby and tawny certainly looked delicious.

Here is a list of all Ports in stock at the Issaquah shop:

2007 QH Vintage Port - $39.99
QH 10 YO Tawny - $16.99
QH Tawny Port - $9.99
QH 2005 LBV - $14.99

Porto Morgado - Ruby or Tawny - $6.99
Taylor Fine Ruby - $17.99

And the steal of a deal = Dow's 2005 LBV @ $13.99 ... this is a fantastic LBV at a great price ... and it is UNFILTERED. Run to your TJ's and grab a case or two. Unreal.

My TJ's sucks and only has the Morgado, Cockburns Special Reserve (which is pretty darn good), and a couple not so good other ones. We don't even had the QH of any type

No Trader Joe's here. Closest one is 427 miles away. But if those 1994s show up, I may just call up a friend or two to buy some for me.

In my neck of the woods TJs carries the QH 10 year old & LBV. I haven't seen the QH vintage port in over a year. I sure hope that the 1994 makes it to my local stores!

We still have the 2007s in stock at the TJs by my house. I am guessing they won't put the 1994 in there until the 2007s sell out.

The 2007 from Trade Joes was the first Vintage Port I ever bought. In looking it up online I found this forum. My TJ only had the one bottle. I hope they get more. I really enjoyed it and would love to get a bunch to see what it becomes.

Their QH 10 year is a solid buy at TJ's also.
