1980 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

From an informal gathering of east and west coast FTLOP'ers at the Palm in NYC on 3/9/12.
Dark burgundy/purplish color. Along with the blueberry and cherry fruit I could pick up on the nose there was unfortunately something off on the nose. Some thought it bottle stink (it did dissipate slightly over a few hours) and some thought a bit of taint (I thought corked) but either way it definitely put a damper on enjoying this one. The palate was not as affected as the nose and showed dark, youthful fruit, firm tannins and decent balance. Seemed like a solid VP but as it was an off bottle I didn't think I could give a fair score.
