It is great to see our friend Chris Blandy, explaining Madeira to Kim Marcus of the Wine Spectator.

What do you think of this video?

Madeira course 101. Good promo for Blandy's. Estufagem-Canteiro, not exactly a revelation.....
Hope members from Germany and Las Vegas will not get upset by my comments and tell me
in capital letters to 'Join the conversation'....

It's certainly a video for beginners, Philippe, but if you want to go deep, thats what FTLOP, MWG and RWC are for [cheers.gif]
That said I think it is nevertheless a good start and since Blandy is a well-known name for Madeira it seems only locigal to interview Chris.
I showed the video to a friend and after that he wanted to taste some Madeira wine and was hooked.
So at least one new member for the Madeira fanclub could be caught!

I think you are right Peter. I also think that my take is accurate. Question of view points, question of perspective.
Before signing off, a couple of points. I was mildly annoyed by your position when we went through the TT tasting discussion.
I had my first Madeira tasting with John Cossart and others at Reid's in 61. I should know something about Madeira. I think, rightly or not that i do.
But my main point is to recognize your total dedication to Madeira. Your contribution to the guide is absolutely towering. You have done so much
for the glory of this extraordinary wine.
And that is how i want to leave it.
Heartfelt congratulations Peter for a superb performance. Thanks to you we are all the richer for it.

# I think we are on the same page here #

# Sorry, it was never my intention to annoy you or anyone else. I might have overreacted a little, having felt the need to defend the organisers of this tasting, after all the work they had put into this. Again: no insult/harm intended! If I offended you nevertheless, I am really sorry for it. It is my strong believe that Madeira wine goes better with cameraderie than dispute. [friends.gif] #

# Agreed, end of topic. #

# Thanks again. On the other hand, MWG would not be possible without people contributing, sending in new additons for the vintage list, sending in corrections, and so on, people like you. So, in reality this the work of many. #

# PS: I hope that "signing off" was more a figure of speach. #
