For The Love Of Port

I could've sworn at one point there was a list in one of these threads of which closure each shipper used, but I couldn't find it.

Any chance we could recreate that list (or direct me to the old one)?

Is there a particular reason why? I ask as most unfiltered LBV's use a driven cork and most filtered LBV's use a t-cork.

agreed - croft is the only unfiltered lbv i can think of from the last couple of years that uses stoppered corks.

The last Dow's LBV was also a t-cork but unfiltered...and pretty darn good I may add. Otherwise I'm not sure which other current ones are... Hope others chime in.

A friend and I were looking to taste a few of each and compare, hopefully being able to find at least one of each with a few extra years on it. If it breaks primarily along the filtered lines though, that could be a confound for sure. Still think it would be fun to try though.

For T Corks Fonseca is unfiltered (2003, 2005).

Latest Dows are T corks but filtered

Regular: Ferreira, Niepoort, Smith Woodhouse, Warres, Ramos Pinto, Noval, Crasto & Offley, Quevedo

T Corks: Fonseca, Dows, Cockburns, Grahams, Martinez, Ventozelo, Kopke, Royal Oporto

I've had older Dows with a regular cork (2000)

Notably, in Vintage Ports DeKrans from South Africa comes with a T-cork (2008 & 2009 versions)--if you count that as a port.
