Fonseca vs Guimaerens?

Is there any difference between Vintage Ports labeled "Fonseca Guimaerens" vs. simply "Fonseca"? I'm wondering about older vintages (particularly 1963), but also in general. Thanks!

Guimaraens is the brand they use when they don't declare a Fonseca Port in the classic years. So in 1963, it is a Fonseca Vintage Port produced by Fonseca Guimaraens while in a year like 1976 it is Guimaraens Vintage Port produced by Fonseca Guimaraens.
You can have a look on their web site for more info :

Tom,
Check out this article I wrote regarding Fonseca-Guimaerens

It will explain a lot about the history of these two companies.

Thanks Andy. I remember glancing at that piece, I went back and read it more carefully this time!
