I drank all mine... I have some "premium quality" madeira from the 1940's, but that's about it for madeira worth talking about. Wish I had more to boast.

Reidar,

actually I was thinking if I should post that many bottles, but now what you are doing forces me to expand my core-pieces, too [shok.gif].

- Pather
- 1730 T Borges
- 1760 T Borges
- 1780 B Borges
- 1789 T Barbeito
- 1792 Blandy Solera
- 1795 T Barbeito
- 1795 T CVM
- 1805 V Blandy
- 1815 B Blandy Solera
- 1834 M Barbeito
- 1840 B Borges
- 1846 T Borges
- 1875 Bastardo Cossart
- NV H&H Reserva: T, M, B
- Serrado: 1827 B, 1830 M

average vintage of all Madeiras that are not NV: 1892, but I have to confess that I bought 30 bottles of newer Vintage Madeiras recently (1950+).

Anyone know how many 1720 Pathers were bottled? Thought it was supposed to be "rare" :D

Couldn't have been too many. I believe all the grandkids got 45-50 bottles total of all the really old Borges wines including the Pather, the 1760 Terrantez, 1780 Boal, and the 1810 Sercial. I think the majority of the wines on the market came from one of the grandsons. [1974_eating_popcorn.gif]

Oh, also the 1800 Verdelho, so I'm guessing 40-60 bottles total for each wine. There were 6 grandkids.

I managed to snag at auction a year ago some 1789 Barbeito Terantez and 1799 Barbeito Boal. Got the bottles delivered a month ago and they just looked off. I had my girlfriend walk into my cellar and look at the rows of Madeiras and ask her to find the odd man out among them just to see if I was delusional. She immediately pointed to these. With Roy's assistance, I reached out to Mr. Freitas at Barbeito and sent him photos of the bottles. Shortly thereafter, he sent me a detailed email confirming the authenticity of the bottles. Phewww. I am very grateful to both of these gentlemen and look forward to finding the occasion to open one of these treasures. :thanks:
