Hello Madeira Lovers and Collectors,

Heritage Auctions has quite a few old and tasty madeiras up for auction this month.

FULL DISCLOSURE is that some of the bottles are from my own collection. *sigh* Life happens, and I have to let some of these go, which absolutely kills me. I fully apologize for the plug on the forum, but my feeling was -- if I'm going to let them go, I'd love to see them go to good homes of the good people from FTLOP, of course.

In total, there seem to be a lot of bottles, though, so it's probably worth a look for anyone interested!

If any of you have a look, and have any questions about some of the bottles, please PM me privately so as not to disturb the forum; and if the bottle(s) is mine, then I would be happy to answer any questions.

Enjoy!
Mark

Two remark:

- you can always let us know which bottles are yours
- why didn't you offer your bottles here when you are so caring about letting us know that these are available?

Would have been interesting and could have been a winwin for both parties...

Thanks for the remarks, Andreas.

I was actually planning to auction a couple bottles with Heritage a little while back thanks to a special introduction I am grateful for. So that was already in the works when "life happened" and I suddenly decided that I would let go of some of my special bottles to help soften the blow. Since I was already in talks with Heritage for a couple bottles, I decided to add several more, not having much mental capacity at the time to deal with individual sales, pictures, etc. A lame excuse, perhaps (at least in hindsight), but the ease of packing up the bottles and bringing them to the Heritage office down the street from my cellar, especially since things were already in motion for the other bottles, seemed like a fine idea at the time, ...and so here we are.

As for letting everyone know about what bottles are mine, I guess I am not sure what the proper etiquette is regarding this. Not that I can think of a reason why I shouldn't but then again, I'm new to the concept of consigning so please forgive me if I err on the side of caution.

I am happy to let you know what bottles are mine via PM. So if you wonder which ones are mine, please feel free to PM me. I am happy to provide information for any provenance questions, etc for those specifically interested. I'm afraid I don't have too many pictures because I actually never dreamed that I would ever sell or auction any of them.

Best,
Mark

Id love to hear about the 1795s. Where you got them, etc. Also, noticed the stencil on one of the bottles looks different than the other two.

Thanks

There's been multiple bottlings of the 1795 Terrantez, 6 or 7 I believe. There are different stencilings dependent on who did them since they are hand done.
