"An opaque blue/purple color (typical of this vintage's top offerings) is followed by a strikingly provocative aromatic display (flowers, licorice, blackberries, and cassis). This firmly-structured, classic, tightly-knit, restrained port exhibits brilliant purity as well as impressive intensity. While not the most dramatic or flamboyant, it is a beautiful, classically structured port that will age gracefully. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2030."

The 94 Point Robert Parker rated 2000 Dow's Vintage Port.
In half bottles.

Last week, as our team continued to prepare to count store inventory this week, many of our buyers used Friday night to catch up on some new buying opportunities. Buried in our inbox, was a note send by one of our vendors with a listing of some wines they currently had in inventory. As we scanned the list ... one wine in particular caught our eye. Yup. It was the Dow's 2000 Vintage Port ... in half bottles! At close to 11 PM on Friday night, we ordered everything we they had, and are looking forward to receiving it this week.

Awesome stuff. Rated 94 Points by Robert Parker, this should be drinking incredible right now and as we get ready to restock after inventory, this is going to make a great addition to our collection. At least ... that is if there is any left.

The wine will arrive later this week (due to the snow, it may be Friday) and is available at a tremendous price. Highly recommended for those of you looking for half bottles of Port, from a tremendous producer, from a tremendous vintage ... with an incredible score.

This is the real deal!

Funny thing, John has rated this 91 points, so I am not sure why he trusts Parker over his own palate?!?! [shrug.gif]
