Quevedo 10 Year Old Tawny Port (bottled 2022)
Day 15 of the 2022 Quevedo Prestige Advent Calendar
Color: med dark red, not opaque in the center. Doesn't really look like a tawny, but doesn't look fully ruby either. But it's at least within the spectrum for what you might expect of a 10 Year Old Tawny Port, just closer to the ruby end of that spectrum.
Nose: stewed fruits in a good way, some caramel, very faint buttered popcorn, maybe some minerality. After sitting a couple of min, some darker stone fruits can be detected. It smells like a young Tawny even if it doesn't look like one.
Palate: smooth, sweet, faint stewed fruits, then more caramelized fruits and darker stone fruits. An easy drinker, but a bit simple. Needs a touch more acidity… but not much more.
Score: 87 points. Not much to say here… it's nice but not great. I'd happily finish the glass and would accept another if offered, but probably wouldn't seek out another glass on my own.
