What are you drinking for the start of the new NFL season?

Based in the UK, I am working really hard to stay awake to watch the kick-off of the 2023-24 season. I’ve been drinking a bottle of Quinta do Noval 2007 Colheita while trying to be awake when the season starts.

Is anyone else watching? What are you drinking while watching?

I'm biased as I don't think the season starts until tomorrow night when the Eagles play the Packers (I'm a lifelong Eagles fan) in Brazil. I'll be drinking a 1980 Kopke Colheita.

Did not watch the big game, but finished an '85 Dow we had opened a few days earlier.

I wasn't able to watch because I was at a party where we drank:

1977 Gould Campbell (magnum)
1997 Gould Campbell (750)
DR 30 Year Old Tawny Port (750)

As it was, the delay caused by the storm meant I didn’t manage to stay awake long enough to see the kick-off.

So, trying to stay awake for the São Paulo kick-off, I’m drinking a rather uncompromising Offley 2022.

I became a Patriots fan in the early ‘90s. I was working in New Jersey and couldn’t get tickets to watch the Jets or the Giants but the Pats were awful at the time — which meant it was easy to get tickets to watch games. I used to drive from Parsippany to the municipal stadium in Foxborough and then drive back after the game. It was great when it was a Saturday afternoon match but brutal when it was a Sunday night game.

I even managed to drive to Philadelphia a couple of times to watch the Pats play at the Eagles, but tickets became more difficult to buy when Randall Cunningham hit his winning streak.

That's real dedication Alex. That's easily a 4 or 5 hour drive. And yeah, the Patriots were pretty abysmal until Drew Bledsoe and then Tom Brady came along. The Eagles weren't much better though.

The 2017 Eagles might disagree.
