I just pick up a few Vesuvio today, unfortunately not in the very nice package as we can see with the 6 bottles wooden box in Europe. Only a nice regular 12 bottles case. Anyway, I was lookin for some info on the 2003 and I found out that their website has been completly rebuilt.

Check it out! The pictures are very nice and you'll see why we have to stop over there when you're in the Douro!

Visited the Vesuvio website today. The pictures are very nice indeed. Many are stunning

and I would like to use them as wallpaper. My only complaint about the site is that unfortunately the web page design will not let you save the high resolution photos.

Shawn, use the save as option from the right click options. The format of the files are in .tif : Apple format. Then you need to convert them in .jpeg with any windows application.
I've set a nice wallpaper last night on my desktop. If you need some help, jut tell me and I'll send you the picture by mail.

Hi Fred
Thanks for trying to help. I had already tried right clicking and every trick I could think of. Save as options were greyed out. I tried using IE, Netscape, and Firefox with no luck on any. They downloaded in Quicktime as TIFs, which gave me less options than normal. Someday I'll print screen and copy to Photoshop. Or maybe I'll try downloading on a computer without Quicktime.
The photos are beautiful enough for wallpaper. The colors are rich and make the upper Douro seem lush. In reality it seems hotter and drier when I am there in person. I was at Vesuvio while the house was being restored, so I could not stay. I sure would like to be sitting on the balcony some time in the future enjoying the view with a glass of fine vintage in hand. But who wouldn't if you are reading this forum.
