48 months in oak, bottled in 1999. Released on the market in Norway in 2007.

Color: Dark red with some dark brown showing, deep.

Nose: Prunes, raisins, mature black plum, spices, very peppery, mushrooms, slightly of noble wood, some eteric oils, dark chocolate.

Palate: Full bodied, very good balanced, good structure, tannins still distinct but fine, super smooth, slightly oily texture, fruit and aromas as above, very long finish, oak and alcohol totaly
integrated. Sweet.

Foodmatch: Game with port sauce. Cheese.

Cellaring: 0-15 years or more.

I am impressed, this is gold. So balanced and smooth.

Bjorn,
Nice notes. I like the S-W LBV's too, although I don't think I've had the '95. BTW - if you ever see a '95 S-W Madelina, buy it - it's a very good SQVP.

Bill.
Thanks for the tip. That wine is not imported here yet, I will remember to ask the importer about it on tuesday when attending a wine seminar.

This is a very solid LBV and a favorite of mine too.

Bjorn-

Very nice note, and matches up quite well with what I'm experiencing this evening. I actually opened and decanted this bottle last night and my wife and each had a glass. I didn't pay too much attention, though, as we were catching up on the days events.

Tonight I'm sipping on this port while my 3-yr old entertains herself in the bath (a 45 minute ritual for her!!) This is very dark, full of dark fruits, a nice spice in the mid palate, and a solid finish. I think this may be my first SW LBV, and it is definitely a winner.

Glad I have one more in the stable!

Best,
Rich
