1998 Quinta do Noval LBV Port -- 1st Christmas Day TN

It is now 02:32 on Christmas Day here in the UK so here is the 1st of many Christmas Day tasting notes on the forum:
Noval LBV 1998 - Bottled 2004 - £10
Christmas Eve @ 23:30 - Opened bottle at Mum & Dad's house - they don't have a decanter so I just left it standing in the bottle
Christmas Day @ 00:45 - Had a glass or 2 with Mum & Dad - we all loved it
This is a traditional, unfiltered, LBV which is still quite young. It has left a very dry taste in the mouth and, from what Roy told me in London in November, I think this is down to tannins. Perhaps this has a few years left in it
My vote still goes to Warre's 94 as the best unfiltered LBV I have tatsed so far
Merry Christmas!
