Its summer, what are you drinking

Since most of the US seems to finally be on the tail end of a nasty heat wave, I was wondering what people are drinking now that the warm summer months are upon us?
For me, this past week has been a VERY well chilled Krohn's Lagrima (see Tasting Note section for my TN on it). I keep it in the refrigerator so it really hits the spot after a long hot day at work.

Lately I've been drinking a lot of Vinho Verde, especially the Follies trio from Aveleda and a few Vinho Grande Branco 2006 from Casa Ferreirinha, cheap and very good, even some bottle variation can bring very good ones.

no port here, i dont like to drink when its warm (except cold beer) so i usually drink chilled pepsi, juice or water. Port has to wait till oktober i think.

Fred,
I just picked this Vinho Verde when I stopped by my local wine store, as I've never had it before.

Tonight, I've been enjoying a well-decanted bottle of 1999 Ferreira VP. Tomorrow I will assess four samples of ancient Madeira that are decanting in glassware in my cellar. Summer never impinges upon my passion for consuming Port. Then again, we rarely see the kinds of temperatures here, that most of the rest of America sees in the summertime.

Most recently: champagne (wife's birthday yesterday). Portuguese: Quinta do Ameal Loureiro 2006 last weekend. I feel the urge to drink some tawny, though, so I might go and get a Niepoort 20YO or Ramos Pinto 30YO some time this summer.

Last night we had two bottles of Symington's Altano Douro 2004 and a bottle of 2000 Taylor LBV that was open for a week. Both were bin end specials at my local B&M.
Finally, that LBV is tasting like something, but it does not taste like Taylor vintage to me... For a $10 bottle of port; not bad!

Well, I'm in Suriname right now. No alcohol for me. It's not too hot, being the rainy season. Still its very, very humid and so I'm sweating a storm. Drinking lots of water.

This upcoming weekend I'm planning on opening up a bottle of '91 Graham's. I'll be sure to post a tasting note next week!

I had some Graham's Six Grapes last night. I've been meaning to try it again, because my first experience with it was in a restaurant (read: bottle open too long) and before I really liked ruby ports. So honestly, it really didn't stand a chance and not too surprisingly I didn't like it.
I liked it this time! It is very fruity and bold with solid tannins that manage to not overpower the drink. Lots of black fruits led by ripe blackberry and some blueberry. I found it surprisingly smooth for a ruby port.
I'll probably start stocking 375s of this to go along with the Broadbent Auction Reserve that I typically use as an "in between bottles" filler.

This is a great question and I need to figure out what to open up this weekend. It has been a fun week of good wines on Monday and Tues and Wed/Thurs. cheapies with dinner. So this weekend, it is time for some good Douro and Port wine too!

Opened a bottle of Calem's Quinta da Foz 1980 yesterday. Nicely mature, if a little light and with alcohol noticeable. Not in the same league as -- say -- Niepoort, but at less than a third of the price of Niepoort, a bargain. A very enjoyable drink.

I didn't drink anything while at Fort Jackson for a month, but have since had 2004 J.J. Prum WS kabinett. I'm now working my way through Broadbent reserve terrantez and more J.J. Prum.

Some 10 year Taylor tawny, both chilled and not.
A bottle of 10 year Noval tawny.
Some basic Blandy's Duke of Clarence Madeira.
Some very chilled white Zinfandel (I'll sip, Mrs. Pettinger will consume with fervour!)
and just last night a basic bottle of some Tokaji whose name escapes me. (I need to try a 4 or 5 Putt example because this stuff was ok but i feel there is likely a lot better out there.
