:help: by picking a Port company website, whether a Gaia giant or a small SQVP in the Douro ... there are some pretty creative websites around these days.
Please comment on which is your favorite.

Are you able to post links to some of the candidates that you think we should consider?

The only one I read with any frequency is theVintagePortSite for monthly weather reports, I find these very interesting.
I am interested to see whether Churchills port blog grows to be something with regular updates.
In the last year I have only looked at Quinta do Vesuvio, Quinta do Noval and Niepoort and I have generally been frustrated that the 'news' I was looking for was not there. For instance Noval hasn't updated for the 2003 vintage yet. I have generally found the shipper web sites are not that up to date which is a little disappointing.
Hopefully others will have had a different experience and I will find some new links to read more regularly!

I gotta say
Quevedo gets top honors. I've yet to see a producer that blogs and updates as regularly has Oscar does. Not to mention he is one of the very few that is active here on

So my hat goes off to him

and I wish other producers would emulate what he is doing.
I like Churchill's blog and give it top honors too, I hope Johnny keeps at it. I don't see many replies to his posts yet, but it still a bit new and I don't think word has spread enough about it.
Also like the Vintage Port site as well for the monthly updates. Although they can be a tad late in coming at times, which is a bit frustrating. But they are on the right track for sure.
I remember all of our complaining about the utter lack of any real web sites a few years ago when

started. Now we have producers blogging, interactive websites, etc. It's great to see this happening, and while many companies still have a ways to go, I am happy to see the amount of progress there has been in a short time.

Although it is not port, and only in Portuguese, I like the
Niepoort Projectos webiste a lot. Beautiful lay-out, good web shop and a blog by Dirk.
Haven't checked the Churchill site out for a long time, but it sounds good. Quevedo is great and really informative.
There are definitely improvements in the websites, but many are still outdated, Noval being a tragic example.

I had not seen the Niepoort one. A shame it isn't in English

It's a good practice for your Portuguese. :)

The setting does look quite inviting. The facilities and rooms look very nice, but could benefit from a few more pieces of art on the walls or something, IMHO. The web site needs to get filled out a little more too, like information on their different products.

Is the Pego vintage port still made by Calem or is it produced independently these days? The 2000 was very nice.
