Major Buying Op for newsletter subscribers

I should probably have a "subscribers corner" or something like that which would only be seen by subscribers, so I don't aggravate other Forum users! :help:
In the upcoming newsletter, subscribers are going to see why their subscription pays off! As promised, 2009 will have a number of amazing offerings which I personally negotiate on behalf of the subscribers. You saw glassware, and a few direct wine offerings last year.
By comparison, the upcoming newsletter (coming this week) is stocked with a truly impressive and deep lineup of wines that I've worked with the US importer to get rock bottom pricing locked in exclusively for

although with a short one week buy-in period. There will be white Douro wines, LBV, a couple of VPs, and Colheitas from every decade, going back to the 1938 harvest at prices that will make many buyers very happy they saved a few dollars for a rainy day. Some of these have never been widely offered before and this is a producer you all know and respect. Last but not least ... their phenomenal 40 year old Tawny, a ***** star stud Tawny, will be offered at a price never before seen in No. America.
Virtually the savings on purchasing one bottle of that 40 year old, will save the entire cost of admission on your subscription purchase. It seems like a no-brainer to me. I don't make a penny on this, but as you know ... this is done to reward the loyalty of subscribers and provide added value to their subscriptions!
So if you are seriously considering buying any Port in the near future, this just might be the moment you've been waiting for!
For those of you who do not subscribe at this time, you still have a few days to get on board before this launches. The reason the newsletter is being held up is we're waiting to ensure we have the proper shipment company on board. It should launch on Wednesday, once completed.

Jeez, I almost forgot. There will be two very exclusive offerings on ultra-rare releases that are almost never found around the USA to be included in the aforementioned offering. These would be considered, "collectors items" and both are affordable too. They're going to be stunners that I bet might just be the two that sell the best. Both are still in the works to ensure that there are enough bottles in country to back up the possible demand. I truly hope these two work out. I have been a big fan in the past and will be thrilled for you folks if I can add this to the Port offering!

You're torturing non-subscribers and subscribers alike! Now I have to spend the weekend wondering until when, Tuesday or Wednesday?

Yes. Um. Hmm.
Gotta make more room!

Gotta make more room!
Yes, for a new VinoTemp or other such new wine refridge.
To all:
I wish I had more influence in other countries to make this a global offering. I might look to get that to happen later this year on at least one offering from a producer that I know can possibly handle the logistics, which are daunting.
Unfortunately, my resources are limited to the USA ... where shipping and logistics is at best, a fractured mess due to the prohibitionists that continue to rule the interstate and intrastate shipments of wine in our country. Anyway, this should work for the vast majority of states where incoming wine shipments are legal.
Although past offerings have been interesting and offered great value for money, this is the most comprehensive one yet. Let's just say that finding wines to fill half or a full case won't be the issue, it will be more like ... do I have room on my credit card. :joker:

Hmm... maybe I should call my friend back. He found a 3-month old Viking 150-bottle fridge for sale by owner for $4000... it's a $7000+ unit, but even at that steep discount seems too expensive to me. Sure, it's a Viking, but I could get another Eurocave for significantly less than that.

Yeah, that's a lot of $. I'm trying to clean out my basement now and then finish it. As part of that I'm either going to get a standalone cabinet, or build a wine cellar and walk-in fridge. The little a/c unit is cheap, but the construction makes the walk-in expensive. But when you compare to $4000 or $7000, that brings it back into perspective.

For Port lovers, I hope you have some wine dollars allocated right now, because I just saw the list and pricing and you won't find these Ports priced like this ... anywhere in the country ... if you can find them at all.
No joke!
15 wines in all, some with only a few cases left in the entire USA and others with zero in Portugal. Gives new meaning to exclusive!
I am really jazzed, this is fantastic and I don't know how I'll ever top this! :wall:
Given the economy, for those that need time to save ... the actual buy in will begin on
March 16th and go through April 3rd. That also gives you a little more time to subscribe if you would like to participate in this and other pending sales in 2009. A well known Quinta that rhymes with Silval, is also in the planning stages and at least one other big one before the holidays.
As there is
NO advertising on this site and never has been, nor do I promote subscriptions in the newsletter ... this is my "subscription drive" to get people to sign up and save BIG. I see no reason why you could not save the entire cost of a full year's subscription with this exlusive offering, alone. Depending on what you put in your half case or case, you could save enough to pay for 2 or 3 years of subscriptions very easily!

Those who have let theirs lapse, may want to consider this a good time to renew. The price of a subscription is guaranteed to remain the same through at least April 2010 ... if not longer.
Last but not least, those who have been subscribers whether you signed up recently or the loyalists who have been here since the "beginning" even when

was FREE for more than 3 years ... this deal was negotiated on your behalf and was the raison d'etre for the work that went into this. My sincere thanks!

I must apologize to all of the subscribers. Although the newsletter was complete and ready to go out as planned last night, in transfering photo images, we had some technical issues that precluded our ability to send out the email through our normal channel. We were up early into this a.m. to get it done. Unfortunately, it won't go out now until tonight. I am truly sorry and trust me, no one is more disappointed than me.

Newsletter is completed, but it is hung up on the servers of the email provider we use to push out. We are in communication with them, and hope to have this issue resolved soon.
Our apologies for the delay - I know there are a lot of anxious Port drinkers out there.

For subscribers, the newsletter can be downloaded from the main website page. Some great buys there, I just put in my email for some

Hey, it's not Monday, March 16th yet Andy! But I downloaded the newsletter and now I'm salivating. I may have to put in more than one order--one Monday to make sure I get something, and then one later if finances allow. There are some great deals.

Not.
They NEVER sell direct to consumers. In fact, I had to teach/help them, in order for them to do so. Even discussed getting a credit card system set up for just these 3 weeks. When this is over, they're done selling direct. They have no desire to be in that biz at all. Don't need to be. This is just a small and private arrangement.
Speaking of which, I am totally cool about folks chatting about this but will ask one thing (to protect the Importer's interest):
Please do not mention the importer, the two Port Shippers involved in this offering or the specific items.
You can speak generically, like "that Colheita from the 1960s was a great deal." OR ... "Yeah, I grabbed some of the 10 year olds too." That is cool, but no names or specific years please. Also no specific pricing. So if you want to say, "I can't believe that LBV was under $10" that is great ... but not, "the 40 year old at $x was an amazing deal." I don't want to scare future importers and others who will be willing to work with us ... but fear having these things broadcast publicly and able to be on "Google." I have heard that specifically from the next group that is going to be offered in a couple of months from now. Thanks for your cooperation on this one as I know it won't be easy ... but discretion will only prove to help you!
