What Port will you be drinking this holiday weekend?

I am deciding between some new 2007s that I've not tried yet, or something older. I have not had one sip of wine since my return from Portugal ... and am definitely looking forward to immersion this weekend.
What about you ... do you have any special bottle(s) lined up?

Oh... Well... how about 1968 D'Oliveira's Bual Madeira (hand carried from the Island). Also, 1977 Gould Campbell, 1983 Dow's, and Warre's Otima 20 year old Tawny (my house Tawny).

I started the weekend off slowly from a Port perspective, but with a bang on the food front. I made a beef tenderloin roast with a Port reduction, and as it turns out a half bottle was just right for the recipe and a large glass after dinner. I used a Broadbent Auction Reserve, which I keep on hand for just this type of "emergency" situation.
On Monday I'll either open another 40-yr old Kopke or a 2003 Noval VP depending on what we're planning to do for food.

Leftovers! 1980 Nieport Colheita, 1987 Kopke Colheita, and 40 year old Sandeman. We're having friends over on Monday, and I've been spot checking those bottles since they were opened to make sure they're holding up. I haven't decided if we'll open anything new, but if the weather is warm on Monday, we might have some white and make Port tonics. I have a Quinta Seara D’Ordens Branco Doce. Would that work? I also have a vinho verde tinto I'm itching to open.

Yeah, that should work fine. If I'm reading Portuguese correctly, that should be a sweeter white Port (dry white being Branco Seco, I think) so you might want to alter your Port:Tonic ratio a bit if you're used to using a dry white.

Just finished off the last of my 3 bottles of 1967 Quinta da Romaneira Colheita, bottled 1995. Not sure what is next. Probably a 1999 Felsina Vin Santo.

I don't know my Vin Santo, but dinner with my friend the sommelier at an Italian restaurant introduced me to them recently. I loved the ones we had.

My wife and I just started getting into Vin Santo about a year ago. They can be interesting wines. Port is still my number 1 choice, though.
