What would you rather have 1963 Taylor or 1970 Taylor?

I'm back to scouring the auction listings and AMC still has the case of 1963 Taylor at $2,000 minimum bid (the one that I passed om ;ast month) but there is also a case of 1970 Taylor at $1,100 minimum bid. The 1970, if I can get it at $1100 plus buyer's premium, looks like a steal, but what am I going to do with 12 bottles of it?

I would take the 1970 Taylor myself, although both are great wines.
On another note, what is the "AMC"? I am not familiar with that auction...

Why, drink them of course!
I love the 1970 Taylor, and $1100 is a steal for a case. If you'd like to split it, please let me know and we'll work out something!

Comes out closer to $1400...

Hard to say, whether the '63 is worth double the '70... '63's are dying out, so perhaps in 5-10 years, that case of '63 really be something $$$! It's like 50's ports; how often do you see whole cases for sale. There was a lot of the '70 vintage for sale, but if you can get either in OWC, that is a treat.
Taste wise, either one is good. '70 Taylor is relatively young so to speak. '63 is amazing after 4-5 hours in decanter.

Still a steal in the US... that's normally a $150 bottle.

Jay,
The 1963 is a great Taylor and the best stored bottles are still amazingly beautiful VPs. But we are talking about a buying decision and for a case, you just can't beat under $120/btl. all in for the 1970 Taylor.
At your age it is the perfect Vintage Port unless you can find a Fonseca '70 case at the same price. If in your shoes, this would be a very easy decision.
Have I ever steered you wrong?
