Black cherries and a little unintegrated spirit on the nose. Big, thick and tannic with hugs fruits, spices and very long in the finish. This is great stuff and I can't imagine it would ever be possible to have too much of it.

Tasted here on 23rd February 2010.

Thanks very much. I have actually never opened a Vesuvio, despite having several bottles in the cellar. Of course now I will just leave them there, but it's good info nonetheless.

David,
You really must open one and give it a go. The good thing, most can be found for a fairly cheap price. The 1994, which is very highly regarded in Port circles, can be had for $90 on average and other vintages for 1/2 that.
