According to IVDP Data, In the USA, 48% of the Colheita sold is Kopke with some Rocha entering into that equation.

Funny. Kopke for sure is the most popular Colheita on the shelf. The painted label just draws the consumer to it.

Very interesting. I don't know about the rest of the country, but in Southern California Krohn is also well represented (although I do believe that their U.S. distributor is located in California).

Yes she is. But LOTS of credit goes to the Kopke importer, who travels around the USA educating many distributor sales forces, restaurant staff members and retailers. They've done a great and focused job of promoting Colheita across the USA and Kopke in particular.

Can you tell him to come to southern California

Andy,

You don't see Kopke sold down there?

Not a lot and it is very hit and miss. Sometimes it shows up and then vanishes for a while. As if a rep shows up, make some sales, and then doesn't come back for a couple years. Sad as I wish there was a more consistent supply of it.

I believe this has more to do with what individual stores are purchasing. All they have to do is contact their distributor and buy in. Should be that simple, eh?

Are you sure it's not just because Glenn has bought every bottle of Kopke Colheita he has laid eyes on in the past two years? [bye2.gif]

What about Barros Colheita? I'd think that is a major player in the US market.

I do see it a lot in my parts, probably more thank the Kopke and Rocha.

For me, it is the first brand I think of when it comes to Colheita.

If only that simple

It is a shame I don't see more of these brands down here. Kopke shows up in my area far more often than Barros and Rocha, which I rarely see at retailers around me. I also would love to see Kopke's dry wines better represented in Southern California as well. A retailer near me has carried the 2007 and now the 2008 Kopke white wine based on my recommendation to order it. They sold out of the 2007 and now have the 2008 they are selling.
