With family, Newman's Port. The only Port with unique canadian history :)

Now produced by Fladgate, I was surprised, it is drinking really well. An elegant, fine and delicate ruby, not too complex but showing what an affordable Port should be like.

Glad You liked the info

And remember, speeking of capitals, its is far worse to "Sell a Port" than to Kobenhavn.

1970 Smith Woodhouse shared with two friends from ATL last night.
I saved a glass for tonight to see how it changes.

A pair of Amandios Siblings

Had them before, and they are quite good. Just decanted the bottles 4 hours prior to drinking.
Last time the 55er was fantastic, But after a few hours in the decanter the White 57 opend up, and ended up as the wotn..

Interesting old Colheita's. Wonder when they were bottled, was there a bottling date?

Both the Amandios where bottled in 1971.

And the same pattern as the first time I had the "set". First we had the 55er, and my guests where amazed.
But the White 57 was by far more focused.
Not with any comparison, But when I had the Colheitas from Niepoort 1934 and 1935 with Roy some weeks ago, first we tasted the 34, witch I first found amazing, but followed by the 1935, there was a clear difference in the focus. As Roy explained the 1934 "is All over the place, But the taste of the 1935 is sharp like a laserbeam".

I had the same feeling last night. And that really amuses me, that a port from a very good year of 1955, is overthrown by a White sibling from a much lesser year.

But a great night with nice friends, who got spoiled drinking superp Ports.

Allan, I happen to think that 1957 was an excellent year; but I may be biased. [friends.gif]

On Saturday night with Stewart, Blair and Bronwyn over, I opened a 50 year old Tawny Port. Really fun juice.

Technically it isn't open yet, but I'm opening a Sandeman 30-yr old tonight once I've cooled off from my run. Reward!

Port on a sunday?
My uncle is Coming over. Something nice on the table.

This blended juice from Borges & Imao just got decanted. Aparently a blend of old Tawnies, from 1907 to 1920.
A little on the sweet side, But Maby it will come together after a few hours in the decanter.

Spent the holiday up in the mountains doing some hiking and biking, with little cell and internet (quite refreshing actually), and opened a tasty Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Tawny (and some other wines). Will get a note up soon.
