The thing I found most interesting was the bottle engraving, and then that they didn't mention Vesúvio.

It is indeed very interesting that the SFE are taking fraudulent bottles of port serious. The selo solution is way to easy for counterfeiters to bypass and almost impossible for ordinary consumers to spot / catch. If they would also provide the public with a ready only webinterface, where one could look up the unique glass engraved code to view details on initial retailer and purchase date. That would be cool. And perhaps even the possibility to flag a specific bottle or submit a picture of it being drunk to keep things up to date. That would also give some interesting data points to see how quickly people drink vintage port etc.
