TN: 2003 Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa Douro

• 2003 Quinta do Crasto Douro Vinha Maria Teresa - Portugal, Douro (4/1/2020)
  Decanted about 4 hours. Showing some bricking in the color, though mostly holding its original. On the palate dusty tannins are still prominent then a wave of dried red berries barrels through. A slight green steminess sneaks into the mix on the mid-palate followed by dry tea leaf and more red berries. The finish is a seamless continuation of the palate that lingers for a long time. Having had this many times since release, it is now hitting prime time as those secondary characteristics are being more prominent. My only slight concern for longer term is the tannins are still very much in the forefront compared to where the fruit is heading. None the less, this is still an amazingly good wine. 94 Points (94 pts.)

Thanks for posting this. I have only tasted this once — at a tasting with the Douro Boys back in 2005. I meant to order a few bottles but hesitated a little, and it was too late. At least I can now enjoy a kind of ersatz tasting.
