1999 Ferreira LBV Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

Opened this yesterday and decanted for about 9 hours before diving in after dinner with a friend. OK, I did have a small taste when I first openned it.

At first a little alcohol was noticable on the nose and a bit more on the palate, not a lot, just enough to slightly mask what was underneath. By the time I came back to it about 9 hours later, it had really changed. A dark red center faded to a nice ruby red at the edges. It integrated very well and most of the alcohol blew off leaving a lot of fruit just jumping out. It had a long and velvety smooth finish.

It was good enough that I bought another bottle today :D
