Hi (again),
With all the (rightly justified) unconditionnal love flowing for Niepoort in these pages and around the port world in general, I don't think I've ever seen any notes on the Niepoort from this great vintage.
I have one bottle (45$) of this and could potentially get some more. With the 97, 00 and 03 going for twice that price, is the price of the 94 indicative of the quality?
Would be curious to hear the opinion of those who have tasted it...
Steve

1994 Niepoort
I have not had the 1994 Niepoort recently, but I will open one soon. I had it several times when young and thought it an excellent port with a long future. But Dirk was more excited about his 1997 and the press agreed, hence the higher price. As Niepoort has continued to get better and better, the current releases are higher priced as well.
But 1994 is a truely outstanding vintage. Niepoort did not make the top port of the vintage, but it still is excellent and well worth buying, even more so at a price of half of latter vintages.
