You are going to really enjoy both but that Noval is exceptional. Open one now and then don't touch one for years! Give it plenty of air time. I think it is a gorgeous wine.
Have you ever bought anything pre-arrival from Premier Cru or elsewhere? Even if I did not plan to drink it immediately, I still would not want to wait to receive it.
I purchase lots of stuff pre-arrival from PC. I have no problems waiting as it will just sit in my cellar. They post stuff to sell as soon as they are assured of receiving it. That way, it can be gone as soon as it gets there - good inventory management if you ask me. I have them hold lots of stuff as well and ship when I can consolidate into solid cases to save money. They are very reputable and I have never had a problem with them. Been very happy with the service.
The only caveat: they do take a while to confirm many orders that are emailed. If what you want is a hot item (i.e., you just got the email announcing it) or if you absolutely have to have it, I'd recommend calling them to place the order to ensure you get yours. According to their website, they update stock hourly. However, when the emails are sent, there is a feeding frenzy to get the wines, which disappear VERY quickly, and the phones get jammed up (kind of like TicketMaster), but wait on hold and be patient - the prices are usually worth it.
For example: I called about these two wines as soon as I got the email since they were really good prices and I didn't want to miss out. Then I noticed the thread here on the Silval - since that thread was a week old and the wine was still on the website, I didn't call back - just placed the order online. That was this afternoon. I didn't receive the confirmation yet, but I'm sure I will. The wine is still on the site now, so I don't worry that I'll lose it.
And if only they delivered to VA or NC. Dagnabbit!
I've seen some great deals on that site in the past month, to include the Silval. The 2003 Noval and 2003 Vesuvio are among the lowest prices I've seen for both at PC.
