New FTLOP Port Buying Opportunity

Post by Roy Hersh »

Subscribers have received an email with the latest and greatest of Port and Douro wine offerings an hour or so ago. [yahoo.gif]

Quinta do Portal, up close and personal. From LBV and Moscatel, to futures of 2007 VP by Portal and other stellar VP vintages and assorted Ports, to their great table wines ... if you want to explore the BEST from this producer like the 1999, 2000 or 2003 VP, then have a look. As an additional bonus for subscribers, they've also included a 10% mixed case discount on top of the fine pricing.

For those that either subscribe or re-subscribe by Sunday while the offer is still valid, please email: admin@fortheloveofport.com in order to get a quick email blast of this offering, while it is still possible to buy in.

This commercial interruption is now over. [foilhat.gif]

Awesome! I'm all over this. I love what Portal is doing. My last visit there was really impressive.

Yes, they make some very good stuff and have been a favorite visit of mine the last few years I've been there. This is another of those producers to watch out for as I am sure they will one day become a household name in Port, Douro wines, and other products.

Now if only this moderator got the email....Oh Stewart, where art thou?

I see they can't ship to Michigan. (Did Michigan change the rules AGAIN?)

Now what?

Peter,

Michigan is always a problem state when it comes to wine shipping. The rules have changed more times in the past 5 years than the past 50 combined. You can call the contact (listed in the email link) and see if they can ship to a friend or relative in a nearby state and then have them ship it to you directly, which may also be illegal but ... Take note that one of "Roy's Top 12 Vintage Ports" is included in this offer!

And just FYI, the 2007 Portal was one of my top Ports of the vintage. Granted I don't have a lot of experience rating Ports and I think I was only able to try 24-25 of them, but the Portal really stood out as a superior example of the vintage to me.

Agreed! The 2007 Portal was one of the top examples. I rated the cask sample a conservative 93-95 points.

I was slightly higher at 95-97. Only the Vale do Meao rated higher for me.

I sent my request and paid by PayPal. I guess I have to call to set up shipping?
