Here was my original tasting notes on this wine:

27. 2003 Quinta do Noval – dark magenta color initially that darkens to an inky black color within a few hours. The ’03 Noval does not show much early on and required plenty of breathing time. It finally offered up an expansive array of boysenberry, fresh flowers and a mélange of spicy components like cinnamon, mint and intense black pepper. This Noval is a sexy, full-bodied Port with voluptuous juice flavors that holds nothing back on the palate. It has outstanding symmetry at this stage and the plush, subdued tannins are hard to detect, but they are lurking about just below the surface and lead to a superlative finish. I preferred this to the Quinta do Noval Nacional (some would call this “heresy”) and the regular bottling is one of my favorite wines of this young vintage. 4,000 cases made. 97+ points

1985 Grahams (750ml) @ $800 - this is $100 less than what Premier Cru is selling it for and is the best price in the USA today. One of the 2 best wines of the vintage in my humble opinion.

1992 Fonseca 375ml’s @ $1200 - Save $240+ on this case, which is less than the next least expensive retailer in America (on this wine today) Premier Cru. At this price these will fly. Hurry!

1992 Taylor 375ml’s @ $1500 - save $180 on this case from the next lowest price in the USA at this time. RP 100 point wine, not to mention the 300th anniversary of this great Port Shipper. A no-brainer!

Thanks for the sneak peek, Roy. They also have the Fonseca 2000 at $52, which is the low price that only a few other retailers also have.

I have bought from them in the past and they shipped promptly with no problems at all.

I have no financial interest or connection with them other than as a satisfied customer.

I need to start buying more older vintages to drink and not just the young ones to collect, ones that will stay in slumber for so long.

Thanks Roy, I just ordered 5. I have bought from the Wineroom before, as they are just a short drive down the freeway from me, and I too can attest they are a good store to buy from. They are open for phone orders now, and even though Jason is not in yet they will still give you the discount.

I have tasted this great port and if you have not bought it yet, this is a great opportunity to get your hands on a must have port from 2003 vintage.

I would not suggest wines to buy if I were not confident they were from good storage and a reputable company. It is nice to see that folks are starting to offer their "services" here by giving us a few days of lead time before they break the news to their regular customers. Since it costs them nothing to do so, providng US with a few days advanced notice is a great way for them to sell to folks wines that they know will be appreciated by a targeted audience. IF the prices are not good, I don't waste your time!

As we discussed months ago, this is the kind of thing that will seperate this site from all the others.

My last post may have come off the wrong way. If that is the case, I apologize. What I was trying to convey was the retailer is VERY reputable with impecable bottles for sale. I know people are often a little leary of buying over the phone or internet from a retailer they do not know. I just wanted to reassure everyone, by way of a second opinion, that places recommended here are great places to do business with.

I certainly appeciate the sneak peeks. The demand from people on this site is high enough that one has to call early. As you predicted, they were out of stock by the end of the day. Although I missed out on this particular QdN 2003 offer I did get some Qinta do Noval and Silval that was mentioned here earlier from Premier Cru. Those bottles look fine too. Please do continue to post these offers of good provenance and price. It should work out well for the sellers too as they can sell their stocks more quickly.

I did see that and you have some very nice port vintages there. However, I have no Bdx to trade. As someone else mentioned earlier, if you wish to sell any of the ports, I might well send some of my port dollars your way.
