Eric,

Nice going on the 1991 Nacionals. I bought 3 close to release for $150 each. How much is it nowadays?
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Thank you Andy--your reward may very well be a pour from that bottle. Roy, I think this one was a steal at just under $150 (after the auction premium, etc.). Of course you have the added value of provenance. For anyone else paying attention, I'm "foomench" on winebid.com. If I know who you are, I won't outbid a fellow FTLOPer either.

Shipment arrived today. I was somewhat but not totally surprised by this. I was expecting it to be bottled by Niepoort, who has bottled a number of Broadbent VPs, but in fact it was bottled by Quinta do Crasto.

You might not have been around for a while Espen, but you've made some nice purchases. [cheers.gif]
Me, one 1964 Krohn Colheita Branco and one 1987 Warre's Quinta de Cavadinha. I'm going to test that underrated 1987 theory.

Andy, I saw that Warre's as well and I was going to pull the trigger - but then I noticed that you had already placed a bid. It does look interesting...

Yeah, they weren't too expensive so I thought it would be educational to try these older LBV's and see how they're holding up. Maybe sometime next month, after they arrive, we can assemble some older LBV's to try.

This is going too fast - I've only been enjoying Port for almost 3 months now and I'm buying by the case

6 x Burmester Vintage 1999 - but at 10£/15,5$/11,75€ it was too good an offer to pass on...

Soon there won't be any £$€ left for my other passion - single malts [kez_11.gif]

Regards,
Claus

You did  and it's likely to continue, I'm (almost) afraid  and I'm already having trouble finding space for my whisky
Next, I'll be travelling to Portugal instead of my planned 2 weeks Scotland next spring
