I had a bottle of the 1980 GC tonight to check on where it is at. So very fruit driven and youthful except for a bit of a bricking edge, but otherwise deeply extracted and beautiful garnet red. This was from the case I bought when David brought in a few from the UK. Great juice with lots of life ahead and it will still improve from here as it is mostly primary notes and I expect it is right on the cusp at 32 of beginning its evolution into some secondary characterisitics in the next decade. By 40 this should be absolutely sublime. I will be patient, but love this juice. Excellent now, but in absolutely no rush to be consumed. If you just bought in and don't know what this is all about, definitely open one and find out. My daughter decanted this 9 hours before we began to drink it. Definitely a minimum of 8 is a requirement, at six it was still showing slight heat. Three hours later, NONE was noticeable. I saved two glasses to check back over the next day or two.

Wow. That's a great deal! Poor Gould-Campbell. I really like the wines, but it's both good and bad to see the heavy discounting on the brand.

Is something going on the Gould-Campbell brand behind the scenes? I sure hope not.

No, usually this type of sale is done by the importer on behalf of the producer, offering really low prices to a specific retailer or two and/or single auction house. It helps to get some brand recognition and product into the pipeline, while covering costs and bringing in some cash. Not saying that is the case here, just that it does happen

Mine just showed up last week - had ignored an email waiting for a confirmation, and I'm surprised I didn't just delete it. I thought it was just saying it had shipped. That'll teach me to not pay attention. Apparently they needed more than the information at purpose - they needed a confirmation before shipping.

I'll have to create a reason to open one - usually the reason is, "I'm thirsty".

They didn't ship mine when they were supposed to. Hopefully they haven't shipped them now when I'm out of town. A confirmation e-mail would be good in my case.

The last email I got from them, I thought was the confirmation email (because of the delayed shipment). Instead, it was an email to confirm the address before shipping. You may want to email them or find that email if you still would have it.
