I just looked through the website and they were also offering 2004 Royal VP for $10. Is that a typo? http://www.warehousewinesandspirits.com ... port-2004/ Is this port even any good at all?

Could be the LBV. I have had the LBV and did not like it much. It improved some over the month+ that it took me to finish the bottle.

There are a couple of reviews of the Vintage on FTLOP, so it might actually be the VP that they are referring to... For $9.99 though, def worth checking it out!

Oh, just noticed that that's for a half bottle. Same price as Lamont Huxley quotes as having paid in his tasting notes.

Yes, that could be an issue. [dash1.gif]

I looked earlier for a mention of it being 375 ml and just noticed it now. Duh. Still a crazy price if that's a VP.

I guess I'll have to check this shop out when I make it back to NYC eventually.

Bummer they don't ship, and to find out it was a 1/2 bottle :(

If that's the price for a 1/2, I'd call it overpriced. I've liked some Calem more than most people around here, but not at more than I've paid for 1994 Martinez ($32), Burmester ($34), Churchill's ($40), Delaforce ($35), Niepoort ($55), Crasto ($46), Romariz ($45), Rozes ($23), and Smith Woodhouse ($34.50, $46). It might taste o.k. against a couple of those, but not at that price.

The half-bottle is not the Calem VP but the 2004 Royal VP that Brian also noticed on their website.
The Calem is a regular 750 ml bottle.

Calem has been the butt of many port jokes. If had to own any Calem, 1970 or 1994 would by my picks.
